OK campers, grab a cup of joe and gather around the campfire for a minute. Your camp counselor has something he wants to share with you.
Every once in a while, you stumble across something on the internet that’s actually worth your time. Well, a few months ago, I did.
I found a blog called SitRepWire.com, written by a woman named Rebecca Lane. Now, before anybody starts asking, no… I don’t know her, and she sure didn’t ask me to write this. I just appreciate good writing when I find it.
I’ve read just about everything she’s posted, and I have to tell you—she can flat-out write.
Most of her stories revolve around trucking, the people she meets, and the places the road takes her. Some will make you laugh. Some might make you think. A few may even remind you why you fell in love with trucking in the first place.
Here’s the kicker… it’s completely free.
I know, I know. Nothing’s free anymore, right? That’s what I thought too. But I’ve been reading her blog for months and have never once been asked for a penny.
Those of you who’ve been hanging around my campfire for a while know I’m about as skeptical as they come. If something smells fishy, I’m usually the first one to call it out. I wouldn’t send any of you somewhere I didn’t think was worth your time.
I’ve even tried to find out more about Rebecca Lane and haven’t come up with much beyond the blog itself. Maybe it’s a pen name. Maybe she just likes her privacy. Either way, the writing speaks for itself.
So, if you’ve got a few minutes and you’re looking for something that’s entertaining, well-written, and just plain enjoyable, head over to SitRepWire.com and give it a look. I have a feeling a lot of you are going to enjoy it as much as I have.
Well, that’s enough from your camp counselor for today.
Until next time… keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down.
